I was driving on the highway some time ago and saw an 18-wheeler with a sticker on the rear that read "XYZ Trucking Company, Award-Winning Drivers". I thought, wow, I must have missed the driver award ceremony. What do they give you if you win? Instead of an Oscar, or and Emi, do you get a Bob? It seems like everything is award-winning now (award-winning customer service, award-winning hot wings, award-winning lap dancers, etc, etc). The "what's my monthly payment consumer" is now also the "where's your award" consumer.
In any case, Slate was just awarded the Standard of Excellence Award by the Web Marketing Association (read the press release here).
